A little of Foucault...

In 2007 Foucault is seen by The Times Higher Education Guide as the author in the humanities as quoted in the world.

Paul Michel Foucault was born on 15 October 1926 in Poitiers and died on 25 June 1984 in Paris , is a philosopher French, holds a chair at the College de France to which he gave the title "History of systems of thought.

The whole work is developed in a philosophical archeology of knowledge, without seeking an ultimate meaning, especially in madness and death, the literary experience, and analysis of speech. Son œuvre s'est également portée sur la relation entre le pouvoir et la gouvernementalité , les pratiques de subjectivation. His work has also focused on the relationship between power and governmentality , the practices of subjectification.

Michel Foucault is known to have brought to light certain practices and techniques of the company by its institutions against individuals. He noted the great similarity in the modes of treatment provided or caused to large groups of individuals who constitute the boundaries of the social group: lunatics, convicts, some groups of foreigners, soldiers and children. He believes that eventually they have in common to be regarded with suspicion and excluded by a lock-in rule in closed structures, specialized, built and organized on similar models (asylums, prisons, barracks, schools) inspired by the monastic model , what he called "disciplinary institution."

This historical perspective should not be mistaken. The ontology Foucault is an experience, a prudent exercise of our stops on this, testing our limits , the patient form of "our impatience for liberty", which explains the interest was the theme of the power relationship between the individual and institutional - as well as a certain idea of subjectivity. This authority establishes the constitution of knowledge and is in turn founded by them: the notion of "knowledge power".

"There is no power relation without the correlative constitution of a field of knowledge, nor any knowledge that does not presuppose and constitute at the same time power relations...The reports of "power-knowledge" are not to be analyzed from a subject of knowledge that would be free or not from the power system, but one must consider instead that the subject who knows, the objects are many effects of these fundamental implications of power-knowledge ... "
Il faut défendre la société - We must defend the company
